Toffee Cream Tart
Do you remember this when you were at school, the recipe that I was told was 'top secret' always wishing your Mum could make it exactly the same for you at home, well now you can. Its easy to make and takes minutes to prepare.
Recipe
7 inch ready made pastry case
Filling:
60g Plain flour
60g butter
1/4 pint of milk
2 tablespoons sugar
3 tablespoons golden syrup
Grated chocolate for topping
Method
In a saucepan, melt the butter over a medium heat and add the flour, taking it off the heat and mixing well.
Return to the heat stirring continuously adding the milk, a little at a time and until it thickens.
Add the sugar and golden syrup stirring continuously and cook for 2 mins stirring every so often and leave to cool slightly.
Pour into the pastry case, dont overfill and leave to cool completely.
Refrigerate for an hour or overnight.
Grate chocolate over the top and serve.
Preparation time: Approx 10 mins
